For Immediate Release
Jackson, WY - September 25, 2023 - Appointments are now open for the Teton County Health Department’s Seasonal Clinic offering the updated COVID-19 and Flu vaccines. Appointments will be needed to receive an updated COVID-19 and/or a Flu vaccine and can be made by visiting http://www.tetoncountywy.gov/CovidVax. The seasonal clinic, located at 520 S. Highway 89 next to Subway in the Target Plaza, will be open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. beginning Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
We will open additional appointments each Monday based on our vaccine supply. High Dose Flu vaccines will not be available at this clinic until after the two walk-in clinics at the Senior Center of Jackson Hole, at 830 E. Hansen Ave., on Friday, September 29th & Friday, October 6th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Seasonal Clinic will only offer the updated COVID-19 vaccine and the seasonal Flu vaccine. We will not have the RSV vaccine available. The updated COVID-19 vaccine is a monovalent vaccine that targets an Omicron subvariant, XBB.1.5. This subvariant is no longer the most common strain circulating, but it is closely related to the current Omicron subvariants that are circulating. The Regular Flu and the High Dose Flu vaccine that will be available are preservative-free quadrivalent vaccines.
Individuals will have the option to get their updated COVID-19 vaccine at the same time as their Flu vaccine or at a separate appointment. Individuals will not have the option to pick which type of COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) they receive due to our current supply. Individuals must bring their health insurance and COVID-19 vaccine cards to their appointment. The Teton County Health Department can bill the following health insurance companies: Allegiance, Cigna, First Health Network, First Choice of the Midwest, Mountain Health Co-Op, Medicare (Part B), Wyoming Medicaid, and BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS).
The Teton County Health Department will have free Flu vaccine and free updated COVID-19 vaccine for those who are uninsured or underinsured while supplies last.
If you need assistance with making an appointment, please call the COVID-19 hotline at 307-732-8628. Appointments may be in high demand and we thank you for your patience while we work to accommodate those who are interested. For more information please visit, www.tetoncountywy.gov/covidax.
If you have questions regarding the updated COVID-19 vaccine, please contact your primary care provider. Parents should contact their child’s pediatrician for questions relating to their child’s eligibility for the updated COVID-19 vaccine.
COVID-19 testing is one of our best tools to prevent the spread of the virus, in addition to getting vaccinated. At-home testing helps you to determine if you have COVID-19 so you can prevent spreading it to others. As of today, September 25, 2023, households can order up to four free COVID-19 at-home rapid tests by visiting COVIDtests.gov.
