Mission Statement
Road Department Strive to ensure that all county roads are maintained in a safe condition; to provide safe travel for general public, school buses, and emergency services.

Levee Department Provide flood protection to adjacent landowners and ensure that the integrity of the flood control structures is maintained, preventing loss of life and property.

State Engineer`s Office The mission of the Wyoming State Engineer`s Office and Board of Control is to provide to the citizens of Wyoming the general supervision of the waters of the state, and of its appropriation, distribution and application to recognized beneficial uses as provided under the prior appropriation doctrine, and to maintain the flexibility within that framework to meet changing public philosophies for the future. The State Engineer`s Office shall collect, analyze, maintain, and provide water related information for ensuring the appropriate management and regulation of Wyoming`s water resources.

Agency Services
Road Department
  1. Maintain adequate maintenance programs
  2. Maintain adequate traffic control system
  3. Maintain adequate public address system
  4. Maintain and protect the integrity of the county road system
  5. Protect the county and the Board from litigation
  6. Provide input into the planning process of the county roads system to provide from future needs.


Levee Department
  1. Maintain armor revetment adequate to with stand normal high water flows.
  2. Provide personnel for flood watch activities
  3. Provide equipment and manpower for flood fight and rehab activities
  4. Provide upstream access to all levee reaches within flood control system
  5. Provide Walton Quarry for riprap source and manage all activities in quarry area
  6. Coordinate all activities pertaining to the levee system with the Army Corp. of Engineer and/or Board of County Commissioners


State Engineer`s Office

 

Goals

  1. Achieve a high percentage of Hydrographer/Water Commissioner and Division Superintendent decisions that are upheld on appeal.
  2. Respond in two business days or less to calls for stream regulation.
  3. Complete water right adjudication files (proofs) within three years or less from the date of acceptance of completion notice.

Objectives

  1. Meet with the public and advise, with regards to the permitting process for water rights applications.
  2. Provide direction to the public, with regards to the rules and regulations of the State Engineer’s Office and the Board of Control.
  3. Assist with and recommend orders for headgates, parshall flumes, and streamgages (as needed for efficient water use).
  4. Complete safety of dams inspections and file reports with the State Engineer’s Office.
