October 8, 2008 - Paper Cuts.

When you have a document to send to a colleague or team members, don't just assume that they want the document in hard copy. Let THEM choose whether to print the document instead of you making the choice for them. Cut out the paper! When you feel the need to print a document, convert it to Adobe PDF version instead and e-mail it to them. Then THEY can choose whether to print it out. To print a document to PDF, scroll down in the Print dialogue box under Printer Name and see if Adobe PDF is a possible printer and select it. Your computer will then ask you where you want to save this PDF file and you select a location so that you can find it in a few minutes and attach it to the e-mail you're going to send to your colleague. Voila! You've converted the file to PDF format and now you can send it as an attachment in an e mail and you've cut out the paper!

Psst……to keep the clutter off of your network and computer, once you've sent it, go back and delete the PDF document - unless you need it for something else.

Office Pack – Not sure what to recycle in your office pack? Here are a few tips….YES to glossy inserts sent with billing statements, NO to sticky notes (unless you tear off the sticky part and it’s not bright paper), YES to manila file folders, NO to golden envelopes (many of these have metal clasps), YES to window envelopes, NO to overnight letter envelopes. Did You Know…. if you tear dark colored paper (like colorful file folders) and they are white inside YES they are recyclable.
